Mr. Harman has developed and managed real estate for over thirty years. He was a co-founder of the Suburban Lodges of America, Inc. (SLA), which was a publicly listed (1996) hotel owner, franchisor, and management company. When SLA and its 68 hotels was purchased by a private company in 2002, Mr. Harman and several other Suburban Franchisees purchased Suburban Lodge Franchise Systems, Inc., franchisor of the remaining, independently-owned 65-hotels. Mr. Harman was Chairman of the Board of Directors of that company until its sale to Choice Hotels International, Inc. in September 2005. Mr. Harman's FCGI Associates, LLC and its affiliates are successor organizations to First Equities Corporation (FEC), a Georgia corporation that he founded in 1974. From 1974-1989, FEC acquired or developed, and managed more than 250 income properties which cost more than $1.5 billion. Mr. Harman also co-founded and is a co-owner of SLD Properties, LLC—an experienced hotel developer, Columbia Hospitality Management, LLC—a hotel management company, CondoSmartRealty, LLC—a condominium sales and marketing company, Columbia Association Management, LLC—a homeowners association management company, Choice Condominiums, LLC—a successful condominium developer, and Choice RE, LLC—a real estate asset manager. Mr. Harman is also a co-owner of Stonemark Group, Inc., an Atlanta-based apartment asset manager, and Stonemark Management, LLC, which manages over 13,000 apartment units.   Mr. Harman has also actively owned other, non-real estate businesses, including Thermo Pac, Inc., a food processing and packaging company which was ultimately sold to H.J Heinz Company.
